Well, that was the best training week I've had since about September or so. 70 miles isn't much, but there was a lot of quality speedwork in there. The Hanson speed session was 6x2:30 at 10k effort (hopefully 5:30-5:45 pace) with 1:30 recoveries on the bike path. The tempo run was approximately at marathon effort. The 4X400s this morning were ? (missed the first one,) 78, 77, 80 on a very shitty, dirt high school track that is all mud after yesterday's rain. The local community college recently resurfaced their track (it was mud before too,) and now they lock the gate. Oh well. Anyway, 5:08-5:20 pace isn't bad on mud. I can now point for either the Ventura Half Marathon or the Pacific Shoreline Half, depending. I'm going to write the RD of Ventura (noneother than former American Record Holder Gary Tuttle!) to ask him what the course is like. If he says it's fast, I'll run Ventura, because it's less of a hassle to get to.
